Morning Kazz! just had a little sing-along there, thank you Pastry making today I think, sausage rolls, quiches, mince pies, and maybe a banana loaf as I have a couple of over-ripe bananas in the fruit bowl. I'll also be nipping out to the supermarket for fruit, veg, cream and any last minute essentials. OH will collect the bird while I'm getting my nails done tomorrow and that's about everything I think. Yesterday evening I lit a cinnamon candle and this morning the house smells lovely Have a good day everyone! |

Afternoon (just) Kazz, MrsH. It's really unseasonally mild today and the collar doves are calling as if it's already Spring! My computer tells me it's 11C - I even have the study window open! More laundry (last load) on; I've sent some seasonal emails and am about to do some housework. OH has taken Monty out and has been to visit his mum - but although he saw her, she didn't see him as she was asleep in the lounge between two gentlemen - there was a lot of singing going on! We have decided to go and see her on Christmas Eve - let's hope she's awake. My oldest school friend popped in to see me yesterday on her way home to Leicester. She'd been to see her Mum who is 90, still living in her own home. My friend made a huge fuss of Monty and I've never seen such a waggy tail! Kazz - do you know there's only 2 more days to go after today??? I do hope that Santa has been doing his exercises with all those presents everyone's been buying! What's Sal getting? Have a good day folks! |

Hi all! Delightfully unseasonable warmer spell continies: nearing 10:45 AM and it's already 14℃ (56℉), mostly cloudy but a little sun. Not mild enough for an open window, though! Rain overnight, clear but more seasonable tomorrow. Nothing new, my wine came yesterday, and groceries coming tomorrow so I'm all set food-wise for the big day. Wasn't it nice to see your old friend, Angie? "New friends are silver, old friends are gold" .... Kazz, thanks for the morning cheerful song! MrsH, I must get a cinnamon scented candle ... off to check Amazon! Sorry we couldn't get enough players for the quiz yesterday, hope next week will be better. Stay warm and dry, enjoy the day, all. |

We've just had the cats to the vet for their booster £84!!! wow!! I wasn't expecting that much as I hadn't kept a note of what we paid last year. Molly is a bit overweight and I need to keep an eye on their teeth, Geoff the vet thinks they'll probably need a dental before long, there's a bit of tartar developing. Any ideas to help keep it at bay? They have Plaque Off daily but it's obviously not enough. |

Yay, finished work, have G+T and do not have to get on a train or stay in a grotty hotel for 2 weeks!!!!! Phew Sorry not to have been on much recently but late November and December were so busy! I have had major problems with trains and have a reputation now as a train Jonah as every train I get on seems to run late. I had 3 minutes last night to cross a footbridge between platforms at Peterborough Station to get my connection- made it just but it wasn't an elegant run in my 'work' shoes....... anyway, deep sigh and relax...... |

Evening all home now. Managed to get my fresh flowers - made the florist go through to the back and fetch me out some lovely scented stargazer lillies but closed ones (not paying that price for a lily that has already given its all ) I love the scent from stargazers. Also I love the idea of the scent of cinnamon....Hmm may look into that. Anyhow got a nice assortment. Went orange, cream and green with the assorted vases rather then the obvious red choice for the season. Decided on a nice perfume I would like Paul Smith "Rose" really nice and light. And picked myself up a few books too. Anyhow just milk and fresh to get now.Did not order a turkey this year as had plans to be at my brothers for Xmas day dinner but with Dad's health better to be here and just visit. Have a frozen turkey in the freezer - duh - but may pick up a fresh one instead not sure yet. Angie I would have joined in the singing - but hope she is awake on Christmas eve. Yes I know Angie just Friday and Sat - Yippee. But can I ask has your friend always had a waggy tail Have I mentioned I may go to church Christmas - not been in a log while, no idea why I think I will but can't shake the idea. Sal has a smoked bone which has been secured safely in the shed. Glad you enjoyed the singalong MrsH when the baby arrives you will be doing lots of that. Thats a nice saying about friends....I like that. Eileen what did you decide on birdwise for Christmas day? and do you know what I feel a lot easier this year with the impending poor weather that you are safe in your apartment rather than in the house - odd eh! Anyhow have a good evening all back shortly. |
