Freezing Friday

Brrrr, working at home today as the snow and ice looked a bit threatening this morning. OH has gone to brave the supermarket now though as we are low on cat food and have no beer ! It is Friday and the rules say I can have beer!
Cold here, one of the problems living in the sticks is that we have oil fired heating and can't afford to run it all day so I am wearing several layers and trying to type in gloves. I may crack soon and turn it on.
Hope all are well. Whenever I see that no daily has been started by the afternoon I hear an Amercian voice saying 'late for a daily'.

Yes, CS - I can hear her voice too! Strange to think that most of us had never actually heard her voice at all - and yet, she is still really missed.

We had about a half inch of snow over night but it was all but gone when I took this photo of our drive onto the bridlepath.

My cold is still hanging on and it is stuck and seemingly going nowhere. I cannot now take many on the decongestants because of "rebound congestion" - the pharmacist warned me about that too. I can still use my steam inhaler and am taking plenty of vitamin C, drinking plenty but I think I need warm weather ....... hopefully it can't be too long, things are beginning to bud, snowdrops are out, birds are beginning their courtship. If I am no better on Monday, I may make a GP appointment and see if I need antibiotics.

Angie , sorry to hear your cold is still hanging on. Fortunately whatever i had at the weekend was short and sharp, lot's of people became ill on Saturday as well from work.
Broken up now for half term, when we go back the topic for the children is spring.

I got good news at work, my probation period has been ended and im finally a permanent member of staff!! means i can start seriously looking at new cars

Heading to a friends tonight to watch a movie and chill with munchies

Shelley Spring sounds like a topic the American voice would adore hating the cold. I could see the odd daff popping up but don't hang around long enough in the front to see in this cold snap.

Pamela; Many congratulations on the permanent job, what sort of car are you looking at........I may go new car shopping (don't want or need one just like looking at cars ) Lovely way to spend a night too in the warm.

Right my daily movements have been kinda nothing. Finished work this morning, took Sal out had toast marmite black coffee. Few hours sleep got up shopping picked holiday tickets up - YIPEE - just got fish chips for dinner and now thinking of popping out with friends.....think I will. See you later
