Monday Agghhhhhh

Morning people read this and you realise why Aggghhhh

Did not win at bingo, however on my return home I discovered loads of people here and why because my Dad has decided to cure my slightly squeaking floorboard......and put a nail through the water pipe to the boiler water pouring through the kitchen ceiling. He never noticed and also put a nail through water pipe coming from the boiler and then to cap it off a nail through the gas pipe leading to the afore mentioned boiler.......now no gas - no water......and 4 men wandering through the house..........AGHHHHHH

Have just at 4.51am managed to I think catch most of the water and now have cold water no heating or gas (cook with gas - ho hum) got heaters out of the loft and have heat the man should return today and cut the damaged pieces
of pipe and replace them the nails went straight through...... So the gas is "condemed" and the boiler is off. Have water dripping by an electric socket too....Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

So have to cancel the carpet man today.....and check the ceiling in the kitchen out when it has dried.... I tell you old people who do not listen who wants one....free to a good home. I actually hid the hammers before going out and said "do not nail the floorboard down there are pipes under there......." Agggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Re: Monday Agghhhhhh

Lord Kazz - I put at the end of your post yesterday, what about confiscating your Dad's hammer, but I see you tried that. These elderly folk get ideas in their heads and have absolutely no thought of consequences I'm afraid. An expensive night at the bingo. Fingers crossed all gets mended shortly ................... when are you leaving them on their own to go on holiday? I hope you have 24 hour supervision sorted. ((((HUGS)))) you are always welcome here for a hot meal.

Well, 4th week just started for my "cold" - which is obviously not a cold at all and probably a virus which means of course it is pointless going to the GP as it just has to run its course. Will go to the chemist though and get some Benylin.

Hopefully will be getting some work this week to keep my mind off things.

Monty is missing his exercise and is becoming very bored and naughty even though we have given him chew toys and I must remember to stuff his little Kong this morning. I do find it amazing the difference in his behaviour just because he's not having his normal run off lead each day - it's a real eye-opener.

Seems to be brightening up outside - have a good day folks. Tink's family will be in my thoughts today.

Re: Monday Agghhhhhh

Morning! It's dull and overcast here but a lot warmer. Boys safely delivered to holiday care and I'm at work. Feeling a lot better now, but still get the occaisional dizzy spell and phase of nausea and will be making an appointment with the doc to get an epipen sorted out. Got dreadful bruising on my wrist where the canula went in, was a bit embarassing on the tube yesterday as people kept staring at it!

Karen; wow . . . not what you want to come home to. No heating, no hot dinners and no warm showers; very stressful.

Angie, sorry you're feeling so rubbish still. Interesting comments there re Monty's behaviour; much like a naughtly 5 year old child

You are so right Yola - not having had children and only just having become a dog owner, I have recently started wondering about parallels in their behaviour ....

Re: Monday Agghhhhhh

Goodness me Kazz! what a nightmare to come home to I hope he's feeling properly contrite and will pay for all those call outs!

Poor Monty, definitely just like a bored child. This too will pass and he'll soon be off-lead again, racing around. It must be a pain in the meantime though

Waiting for a parcel today but we also need to go out. We'll wait another half-hour or so and just accept that we'll probably have to go up to the sorting office later on.

Got an interesting letter from Dr's surgery re free NHS checks. I must admit I've never heard of them. A 20 minute check every 5 years for 40-74 year olds, designed to spot warning signs for heart disease, stroke, diabetes etc. Will certainly be booking in with the surgery, sounds a very good idea, I wonder how long this has been around?

Re: Monday Agghhhhhh

morning everyone
OMG Karen, what a naughty daddy you have
I hope you get your services on again soon and the damage isn't too bad.
Angie, GET TO THE DR, a vius shouldn't last 4 weeks either
Yola, glad you're getting an epipen
MrsH, i got an invite for an MOT last year and nearly didn't bother as i felt ok and felt it best to leave things alone. However i did go and they diagnosed an underactive thyroid for which i'm on lifelong treatment.
Off work this week due to half term, hope things with james don't kick off.
Seeking help and advice for Kwame, we have decided to stop his classes as they are no longer a positive experience and fill me with dread. I have reseived some good advice from another specific forum and will be trying other methods. Going to the library to see if they will order me a reccomended dog training book.
Got two parcels today, two gentle leaders to try with the dogs and best of all a 1964 Igginormas Dam troll girl
Sorry to ramble, must go and do some housework

Re: Monday Agghhhhhh

Blimey Kazz, that is a tale of woe! Hope you get it sorted soon.

Angie, I don't care what you call it- get yourself checked out please!!!!!

Yola, an epipen sounds a great idea- hope you are 100% soon. It must have really shaken you up.

Is that a national scheme Mrs H? Sounds a good idea.

Hope you get some time to relax between errant sons and dogs Shelley.

I'm packing as I'm off to Bristol for a couple of days for work. Smudge always gets clingy when I'm packing although OH will spoil them when I'm away. Trying to get work clothes packed WITHOUT getting covered in cat hair is a challenge.
