Thursday

Hmmmmmm, late for a daily
Just back from town, i went to check out the car boot market, unfortunately it was a load of rubbish, literaly.
Trying to get the dogs used to their gentle leaders, of course they find it strange and keep trying to paw it off. i had to keep feeding Malaika treats to get her to walk.
Typicaly the one that gave me the most problems was Kwame, he lay down on the footpath, crying and refusing to budge. I then managed to get him going and a big over friendly ginger Tom came strutting up
We made it to the field but i ended up alternating between carrying and trotting him along, a ten minute walk took us nearly 20.
Off to a friends for luch and a catch up

Re: Thursday

Quiet today! Hi Shelley, not being a dog owner I must confess I have no idea what a gentle leader is?
I'm on a train home after 2 nights away ! Longing for my home comforts including OH, moggies and my own bed. I never sleep properly when I'm away.

Re: Thursday

CS a gentle leader is a halter type device as opposed to a collar. It's supposed to help dogs stop pulling and i must say the results with Malaika are encouraging.Hope you're all nice and chilled out at home now.
Karen i expect you're at work now, have a good night.

Re: Thursday

Hi all - I've had some transcription work today and the day has just flown by.

Hope the gentle leaders work for you Shelley - did Kwame's breeder have any useful advice?

Hope all sleep well tonight. Friday tomorrow.

Re: Thursday

not realy Angie, she has problems with one of her male dogs too. Have got some great ideas from another forum and also Basenji people friends. Such a relief to know i'm not taking him to training tomorrow.
