Re: Its Friday!!

Good morning! Last day of the half term today and, having survived yesterday's playdate visit by a rather energetic 5 year old friend of Sebi's today it's just my 2 boys and me. I think a trip to see Star Wars Phantom Menace in 3D is on the cards, plus a quick run to Pets at Home as there are no cat biscuits left

Good luck with the car hunting Pamela; always exciting I think

Re: Its Friday!!

Early for a daily

On holiday now weehee. Already fetched the papers and took Sal out got a bit of shopping to do and then a bank run.

I WILL post Eileen's letter today promise.

Anyhow now have the pipes replaced (those who have not been up to date) my Dad decided to fix a squeaky floorboard lat Sunday and nailed through the gas water and boiler feed pipes....but sorted now. My new carpet is now laid on the stairs and landing.............like walking on air. Pamela snap I put the change into the bank to offset the cost of the carpet. Great minds eh! Got quite a bit to do and got to get going.

Shelley yesterdays daily I did not have chance to reply to you properly did Kwames breeder not have info for you? Gentle leader sounds a positive step though. As does stopping the classes no point stressing yourself it is supposed to be fun. I stopped agility with Sal because the woman kept pushing us to upgrade – not interested it was fun that’s all I wanted. I can see what irritating you though; you are doing everything right so why is it going so wrong - but positive times ahead hopefully. Thing is a dog playing up makes your head explode you are convinced everyone is looking at you going “BAD OWNER” whereas most people are I am convinced too busy trying to solve their own doggie issues to care. CHILL woman dogs are meant to enhance your life not downgrade it. (For Eileen now as none doggie person) And cats are meant to rule your life.

Pamela I would not buy a car from somewhere that messed me about like that if they can’t get it right before you part with your money what chance have you got afterwards...........that would concern me. Although I am with Yola and love looking at/for cars. Have a good half day too and enjoy.

Yola the end of half term wow this week has flown – which is not usually when I am waiting for something. I took the children to see Star Wars Phantom Menace in 3D start of the week and they enjoyed it not too bad for me either. But where are your priorities? Out of cat biscuits. Tut tut

Right people have to move so have a good day all whatever you are doing and think of half asleep me trudging through my day...................NAH just jesting I will be skipping along as normal. See you all later and if you can all see loads of edits something weird happened and kept doing different fonts.......wonder if that a certain lady from over the pond Hmmmmmmmmm added a line especially for you.

Re: Its Friday!!

afternoon all.
Been out and about with Malaika this morning, have to say the gentle leader has transformed walking with her, loose lead all the way and two tractors were able to pass us without her hunting them down ;O
Howard to Kwame on his ordinary collar, he's not quite there yet
Cleaned the bathroom and kitchen sink, found a job to tell my son about, will ring him soon as if i wait for him to ring me we will be there a long time
Pamela, good luck with the car hunting, hope you find a cracker.
Yola, hope you and the boys enjoy the film
Karen, Kwame's breeder is aware of the situation but she has problems with one of her male dogs too.
Got some good advice and support of another specific forum, sometimes you need to speak to other basenji owners as they get what you are up against. As someone pointed out yesterday, Yes they are sorry when you catch them doing something naughty, but they are sorry you caught them not sorry for the behaviour
I know what you mean about thinking people think your a bad owner, i also felt Kwame was being shown in a bad light too.
Angie, hope you're feeling better today.

Re: Its Friday!!

Hi all! Still a bit crook, but must be heading in the right direction. Linctus has helped a lot and I am managing to get a better night's sleep at least. No idea where all the gunge is coming from, it's not as if I drink loads of milk, just a bit of skimmed in tea and a bit on cereal. The pharmacist advised cutting down on milk as it is a known mucus stimulator.

I've had a grocery delivery today, came after OH had gone off to golf. I didn't realise how slow I've become - putting things away seemed to take forever. Monty didn't really help as he wanted to play with the coke bottles and Pip kept wanting a cuddle!

I hope you get good support from your breed forum Shelley, I know I've found the Schnauzer forum invaluable. It sometimes is just enough to know that you're not alone. It must be such a relief not to be going to training class any more, maybe a more relaxed approach will help you both, I do hope so. We have found an agility training group not far from us that concentrates on fun for owners and dogs - they do a 10 week course for £40, which seems very reasonable, I think there may be a waiting list, but that's OK as Monty won't be 1 until the end of this month.

Shame about that garage Pamela - I'd definitely go elsewhere and get the service that you should expect. After all, cars are not cheap!

Yola - hope you enjoy the film, I expect the boys will!

Kazz - glad your pipes are all repaired and hope that your Dad has got over his embarrassment? Are you flying out this w/end?

I have some more transcription to do this afternoon. See you later folks, have a good day.

Re: Its Friday!!

Hello all,
Enjoy the new dept Pamela (and the break before). Hope you enjoyed the film Yola. Did you have a good time skipping through the day Kazz? Glad your Dad's 'handiwork' has been fixed. Shelley, hope the gentle leaders work. Angie, you still don't sound well and I do wish you would just get a check up - it would stop us nagging!
Friday night beer- cheers Eileen!
