Morning Pamela and those to follow. Pamela, you'll be glad to have your lovely car back- what a hassle for you!

It's another grey day today and I'm in the office at a computer again. Oh well, it is a long weekend and I really MUST weed me veg beds so i hope it doesn't rain the whole time.

Re: fruit salad Friday

Thinking of Farthing and her Donald today . . .

I'm a bit dopey at the moment due to being up at 5am as Dominik had to be in school by 0630 to grab the coach for their Yr4 trip to France. They're only going to Stella La Plage (near Le Touquet), but it's for 3 days and 2 nights and it's going to be SO odd not having him around all weekend.

Waiting for the Friday donnut trolley to come around so I can get a bit of a sugar fix

Got a really lovely card from our vet yesterday - not one of the ones they usually send but one from the Head Vet - who carried out the eutanasia. He wrote about how sorry he was that the procedure was so difficult (it was; she was fighting and he couldn't find a vein), but he said she was obviously in a lot of pain and how they will all miss her pretty face. That set me off again, and again now as I type

Anyways, here is the cake trolley - must dash.

Re: fruit salad Friday

Afternoon, Pamela, CS, Yola - go for that do'nut - I am also thinking about farthing and Donald. It was nice of your vet to send a card. I think we sometimes think of vets as professionals who aren't touched by their patients, but I'm sure that's not the case. ((((HUGS)))) Yola.

A cloudy, chilly day here but at least not raining. OH had to go to Southampton docks this morning to pick up his friends and take them home so I took Monty on a short walk over around the field - the rape is in full bloom and it is a curious perfume, sort of sweet but with a back tint of cabbage, rather odd. The swallows were swooping over the crop catching bugs. The grass has grown so high, it was up to my knees in places and my waterproof shoes have finally given up and are leaking. When I got home I could see why, holes ....... they were cheap but comfy so I'm sad about that. New shoes are in order.

OH has returned and gone off up to Stansted to give Monty a good run as he only had a couple of field walks yesterday. It's getting chillier .............. hope this forecast of -9 and snow won't come to anything.

Need to order some more cat food today and then start looking for those shoes.

Have a good day everyone.

Re: fruit salad Friday

Afternoon everybody,

I also got a card from our vets about Bronwyn, started me crying again Yola, the vet said what a lovely cat she was and how much she will be missed...it is a nice thing for them to do.

Well hubby and me did a bit of shopping this morning and then picked up hope from the RSPCA, she meowed all the way back (only about 7 miles lol) she is currently laying next to me on the sofa but she won't stop head butting me and kissing me. We have shut her in our living room where she will stay for a couple of days until she meets Arthur.

Off to London later to visit mum and then we might have a meal there in a little Chinese we have been to years ago.

Have a good evening everybody

X

Re: fruit salad Friday

evening all.
Emma, sounds like Hope/Sophie is settling well with you, i'm sure she's a good omen. Hope you find some improvement in your Mum.
Busy day at work, finaly i got some training and invited to the team meeting, things are looking up somewhat.
Looking to buy a new car, probably not brand new but a young one. Unfortunately our Rover has had to be Mot'd today, it will get through tomorrow with just a bit of work and hopefuly not too expensive.
