Marathon/Snickers and Aztec bars!
Following our enjoyable chocolate and sweetie quiz last evening, I was going through the Qs with OH - he questioned whether Marathon had actually been Aztec and so we checked.
Shelley - Marathon bars were made by Mars and Aztec bars by Cadbury, so Aztec wasn't the old name for Marathon.
In UK and Ireland, Marathon was rebranded as Snickers to bring it in line with the rest of the world where it had been sold as Snickers since 1930. It was originally named after a favourite horse belonging to the Mars family. There seems to have been a move in 2008 to rename it again, but I'm not sure if anything came of it.
