Mark 2 Jaguar Monday

Can you tell I live a lot in the past? I remember my uncle Geoff had one of these, leather seats and that car just smelled wonderful!

Horrid day, grey, blustery and raining on and off. Been to the greenhouse to see how things are and I apologised to the plants, especially the lovely aromatic Mediterranean basils that must be pining for their native lands and of course the poor little tomatoes.

There was a bit on the News yesterday evening about the awful storm that hit the eastern states of USA, including Washington. Of course, that made me think of our dear departed Washingtonian (?) friend and I hope that Christopher and Carolyn and dear Leia have weathered the storm and are safe.

We have packed up all OH's mum's ornaments and bits and bobs and so it's up in the loft again today to put them away and then we may go looking for some more furniture; a desk/dressing table, a coffee table and a bit of a browse perhaps.

Fancy a nice bowl of warming soup and crusty bread for supper - may have to pop into the farm shop and get some veg.

Have a good day folks, keep dry and safe. Smile if at all possible and tell jokes, this weather calls for jokes!

Well, the rain has settled in and so have we. Given up on furniture hunting today, but have been to the farm shop and got our veggies. Soup base already done, some apples stewed and OH has treated us to a madeira cake which he's cut in half and spread with some left over lemon curd. Roll on tea-time.

Re: Mark 2 Jaguar Monday

Miserable day here too We're off to Cornwall on Saturday so I've started thinking in earnest about what we'll be packing and making sure all the laundry is up to date, I'm going to have to put it all in the tumble dryer, no chance of it going out in the garden! I've got a feeling we'll be coming back at the end of the week looking all pale and interesting (and damp of course ) Oh well, at least the beach won't be crowded and Morgan can have fun without us getting embarrassed at his picnic-nicking habits Now let me see.............where did I put the fleece-lined gloves and thick sweaters?

I WANT SOME SUMMER!

(sorry for shouting, it's just so depressing )

SUMMER

I totaly agree the weather here again is totaly not too good. Its been raining on and off all day I am told, (been asleep myself) but it is grey.

Well I am in work tonight.

Angie good luck in your furniture hunt, soup sounds just perfect given the day and weather you have had and the maderia cake sounds the ideal weather sweetner.

Mrs H enjoy your holiday I think sometimes being away with a dog means I do not want the overly hot hot weather......so lots of rainy walks with the dog are an excuse for hot chocolate and comfort food - not ideal for summer but hey.......your on holiday. You could always put in a higher wattage lightbulb and sit under that

Shelley ...more overtime what are you going to spend the money on? at least you are earning in this dreary weather.

Angie you are right I used to "monitor" or pay attention to washington weather mind you I really just had to read Eileen's posts....but have stopped of late. Hope all we know are okay.

Re: Mark 2 Jaguar Monday

I echo all the pleas for some SUMMER!
I got soaked through cycling home tonight but having spent money on the bike I am determined to use it. Today I may have been a tad optimistic........

Hope the weather improves for Cornwall Mrs H. Soup sounds good Angie. I hate housework Shelley but I guess needs must. Enjoy work tonight Kazz.

Now, altogether "stop raining"
