Wild bank holiday Monday

Typicaly for a bank holiday the weather is really wet and windy. The sea is very rough but looks beautiful.
A daY for inside pursuits I think.
Have a good one whatever you are doing.

Re: Wild bank holiday Monday

Morning Shelley! Nothing as dramatic here, but overcast and a bit windy but dry so far.

Not sure what's happening today .......... OH is out with Monty atm.

Don't know if anyone has been watching The Hairy Dieters tv show? The Hairy Bikers on a diet ...... not sure about the whole show really but I did cook their recipe for sweet and sour chicken last night and it was LOVELY! 10/10 for flavour although I'm not sure about being very good for you as it certainly tasted rather like a treat! I cut down the portion I had and only had a large spoonful of rice ... and we have enough for tonight too!

I am debating joining Weight Watchers online. Has anyone else tried this? I could do with access to their recipes because the thing that makes me "give up" is not knowing what to prepare, even though I know what to leave out.

Have a good day folks and enjoy the holiday.

evening everyone, its pouring down here today. Eventful day in work due to new systems and scripts going live today with very little training on them!!!

Shelley, its the same here tonight, not going anywhere!!
Angie, i am using an app on my phone and computer called my fitness pal. Its really good, it bases it on the amount of calories you take in during a day. Ive lost a wee bit through it in the last couple of weeks.

Hiya Angie

I have been watching the hairy bikers and plan on looking at their recipes.
Anyhow I had got to about an 18-20 not good for someone 5ft4 now by buying smaller plate and topping up on salads and veg, cut out fizzy pop too have changed to diet. And not buying crisps; I have lost almost 2 stone in about the last 4 months I am now a size 16 and moving towards being a size 14 again. I was a 12-14 before my hysterectomy and feel a size 14 would be good for me.
I say anything that works is good.

I like the idea of buying a smaller plate. I only have diet tonic, no other fizzy and don't often have much in the way of fat/sugar and don't often have ready prepared food. Not really sure why I've put on so much weight - guess it's the COPD and inability to do much exercise, so intake has to be restricted big time.

Re: Wild bank holiday Monday

Good luck with the dieting Alex, I know how difficult it is to diet and stay motivated. I have tried countless diets and failed, but since February I have lot nearly 3 stone! I feel so much happier and healthier and haven't set foot inside a slimming club or joined an online one! I do as much exercise as I can and eat low fat sensible meals and have drastically cut down on portions. I do plan ahead and eat earlier in the evening so that I am not starving. Of course I do have treats, you have to. Good luck! If I can do it anyone can!
