Bit Worried For This Forum

I know it's been "thin" for a while but I looked at the old thread about Alex's worries about Teddy that Velvet commented on yesterday and immediately noticed how many posts had been made on the topic which just made me think that I needed to voice my concerns that the forum may be "petering out".

Any ideas about giving it a bit of a tonic???

I think it's the way of things angie, dips and highs. I know on a footie forum I use, the owner has expressed similar concerns. With the advent of 'the site that shall not be named' , a lot more people tend to use that these days. We live in an age of instant gratification, and on there people see your post more or less straight away, whilst on forums it can take a few hours for a response.
Also Catsey has never been a high traffic forum, always been small and sweet lol

There's nothing wrong with small and sweet Alex

I think you are probably right about social networks - however like the old dinosaur that I am, I don't feel comfy there, whereas I do here .......... I am not intending to change either!

Angie, I have been feeling the same about the forum as well. Been trying to think of ways to get it going again. I think maybe getting the quiz back up and running might help.

Re: Bit Worried For This Forum

I agree Angie that the forum is a little quiet at the moment but hopefuly it won't peter out.
I'm not sure if anything can be done , maybe as the weather turns people will have more time ?
We don't seem to do word searches etc anymore and of course the quiz night has gone at the moment. Sometimes the daily doesn't happen or had very few posts.
It's a difficult one but this is a small forum compared to some, i think being small sometimes works in it's favour, i find some other forums much too big to keep up with and i don't go on them anymore. As for other places, yes i do go on there but it's very different to here and i would never give up this forum for that.

Ok - who's up for making a few resolutions???

1. to get the quiz running again
2. to post on the daily thread if we can
3. to start up some word games like we used to have running

Any other ideas?

Re: Bit Worried For This Forum

thanks Mags, i think games are good for getting us to interact, lol
I am quite happy to do some quiz questions but we have still to decide a day. I think the two most promising were Mon or Thur. i am away next week but could do a quiz for the thursday after or if we go for mon it will have to be in two weeks as we are only coming back a week next mon.
Re the quiz i think we will have to accept that there is only going to be a tiny group of us, we need a minimum of two players and one quizzer.
I will certainly try to post on the daily as i think it's a great way to connect. I do realise that some people simply do not have time or inclination to join in.
I guess it's good to stir up the forum every so often, it's too special to lose.

I'd be happy to join in with quizzes, as long as I'm not at work!
