Singalonga Sunday

The title is inspired from .....nope first I should say "Good morning all" and a Good morning it is too.
I have still got the after effects of this dreadful cold however feel good. Hope it does not flare up again.
Not got any great plans however like Pamela and Shelley yesterday trying to sort out for Christmas I am doing the same started to emulsion the ceilings in the kitchen and living room. And would also like to get the wood work glossed, this is a good plan as Dad can help. In fact as his trade was painter and decorator it is good the issue is his hand shakes so much he stays away from the edges allowing me to fill them in. No power tools or hammers involved so should be safe.

Changed the light bulbs in the kitchen too much brighter, often change them as the clocks change go back to less brighter ones in the summer when not needed due to the light coming into the house from the windows. That may be useless info but essential info for the daily

Pamela I think Autumn like Spring is the time for cats not to cold or warm makes them electric like.

Angie glad your OH is feeling a bit better nothing like a brisk dog walk to blow away the cobwebs (in fact may do that myself)

Mrs H a Christmas cake how lovely, may mention that to my Mom and get her to make one she always used to but doesn't so much now. And she loves baking. Mentioning that there is a cake sale at work tomorrow so may may a few myself for that its for the "children in need" events we are holding. Also hope hubbys computer is all he expected.

Shelley people often comment on how well behaved Sal is however what they don't realise is how much hard work that takes on both human and canine side. Even now at 10 I find myself thinking what on earth does she think she is doing? And feel a loud "Oi" lurking in my throat. May find the sharp stick and bring that out....

Anyhow morning all and is the quiz on tomorrow??? and time please.

Oh edited to say the title is inspired from a song I heard yesterday and cannot get out of my head........you have to guess what it is and its not a Christmas Carol.

Re: Singalonga Sunday

Afternoon Kaz, Pamela and those to come along ....

Well, an absolutely glorious day here - blue wall to wall, sunny Sunday. I actually went out with OH and Monty and have some Autumn colour photos to post later. Monty met his best buddy Bertie and we walked with Bertie and his people for half the walk. Bertie is a Schnauzer/Shih Tzu cross, but looks more like a terrier - he's a bit younger than Monty and about the same height but not so sturdy, they are made for each other!

Just having a coffee and then we are going to pick up the food mixer OH reserved online yesterday, so I can feel a Christmas cake calling ..... love the fruit and nuts, not so keen on the marzipan and icing, so might just do a Dundee-style with nuts on top.

Have a brilliant day peeps!

PS Singalonga Max is the only thing that comes to mind!

Re: Singalonga Sunday

afternoon all, on this Remembrance Sunday.
Hope you all have you're Poppies, i bought a wristband for a change this year. Last night we watched the remembrance service, very moving, especialy the last post and all the falling poppy petals.
Dogs had a wonderful time running in the fields at the river, Kwame got filthy and had to have a shower when he got back home.
Karen i shall have to try the sharp stick on the dogs, lol
Seems like we are all considering doing jobs on our houses, our's is way overdue. Going to borrow my parents steam cleaner for the bathroom, then we will paint the ceiling.
Angie, glad you had a nice walk.

Re: Singalonga Sunday

Mmm, must get on with the Christmas cake soon!
Busy couple of days here. It was OHs birthday yesterday so we went shopping. I had a couple of presents for him but he is hard to buy for and very fussy so it is safer to take him. We have also treated ourselves to a print by a local artist - it's a black and white drawing of a hare. We used some money left to us by my Father in Law so it's a bit like OH still got a present from him.
I was singing in the afternoon- we are learning the African Sanctus by Fanshawe which is a real challenge. Today was the usual mix of domestic stuff and a long run outside in some lovely sunshine.

Give us a clue about the song Kazz? Do you get 'earworms'? Glad your OH is feeling better Angie. Hope you had fun at Ikea Pamela? Shelley- how on earth do you shower a dog?!?

CS, glad you had a successful shopping trip. The Hare picture sounds lovely.
Re showering the dog, it took two of us. We put a rubber mat in the bath, put the spray on warm and off we went. He wasn't keen but at least it wasn't a cold hose pipe in the garden, lol

We pick the picture up next week, it's being framed, I'll try and photograph it.
The dog showering sounds interesting!
