Re: Tuesday Tuesday

Hiya Pamela

Hope you enjoy your day out with your OH sounds nice.

Sorry I missed the quiz last night I was kinda caught up it was odd I was talking to my next door neighbour but one John whose dog died and he was stroking Sal and we both thought odd sounds like banging from the house opposite John's. I put Sal in the house and both John and I walked over the house apparently the chap who lives there "R" had fallen he is not old old but about 60(ish) he lives with his wife but she was in bed having got this bug thing going round he has had it apparently but thought he was over it but must have been more unsteady on his feet than he thought and fell still not sure if he fell in the hall or down the stairs and landed in the hall. However he was banging on the porch door with a slipper we had to phone the police and ambulance as we could not get in he could not get up - R's next door neighbour who has the spare key is in Canada visiting her son.....the chap who had fallen "R" was shaken up so they took him to hosptal.
Shame really their son is on a ski ing holiday.
Luckily his wife heard us knocking the door and although upset with coaxing from half the neighbourhood through the letter box opened the back door and we managed to get in before police and just before the ambulance. He wastaken to hospital and they wanted to keep him in - John kindly went with him but R self discharged himself he wanted to come home. So adventure unwanted here.
Popping over in a bit to see how they are.

Re: Tuesday Tuesday

Morning Pamela, Kazz. Have a good day out Pamela. Hope you have your camera with you.

Kazz - I think community service comes before quiz! Well done to your neighbourhood coming to the poor guy's aid. Why do these things always happen when family is away and back up plans (key holder away too) fail? I think there is a power greater than Sod at work there.

A brighter day here so far. Snow all gone. OH is out with the dogs and I'm off for a late breakfast.

Kazz - if you have a spare minute in your busy day, go through the quiz Qs and see how many you'd have got. I was a bit worried it was too "historical" but I think it went quite well! Brain-box Elaine won, she was on the mark last night.

Have a good day folks, keep warm and safe.

Re: Tuesday Tuesday

Missed yesterday's quiz due to a washing machine which peed water all over the utility room floor and was bleeping like a mad thing and the pump wouldn't turn off despite the machine being off.

I panic when the washing machine breaks as I have SOOO much stuff that needs washing and drying and the thought of being stuck with Dom's games kit all covered in mud on a Friday without a washer dryer fills me with horror

I have a man coming to take a look though so fingers x-ed he can fix it without me taking out a 2nd mortgage.

It's sunny here and I'm in the office. Had a look at a lovely little retirement house for Mum in a Thames-side village near here 1st thing this morning, and I think it would suit her down to the ground. It's been on the market for over a year so open to offers too My Mum had a sensible offer on her house within a week of it going on the market so everything seems to be accelerating a bit in the department!

Re: Tuesday Tuesday

Afternoon all, bloody freezing here and temp due to drop to minus 8 later tonight. Driving in Aberdeen is a nightmare in the mornings at the minute but seems fine by afternoons. A 15 minute journey this morning took me over an hour, oh well...
Pamela hope you got here and home again safely and you werent too cold.
Kazz, I never want to live near you, everything happens around you and I have enough of my own dramas to contend with.
Got a council meeting tonight but I really dont want to go out again, its too cold, but I have to, its important we show strength in numbers.
Got a few pics to post.

Re: Tuesday Tuesday

Back from my travels today. Had a lovely journey up, no snow on the roads thankfully. Went to my folks house and to see my sister before we came home as both of them have had accidents in the last 2 days!! My sister was in a crash yesterday in her car which may have to be written off, shes ok though just shaken and aggravated her foot again and my mum slipped on a wall that separates the garden from the path, again she is ok but has hurt her back so not a lucky family this week!!
