Rum Baba Monday

Re the title i just love this cake but can't seem to find them anymore
Feeling a bit better but still sniffly.
My uncle is out of hospital, still having problems with waterworks but he's out. Poor chap won't get much rest as he cares for my auntie.
Been out with Kwame this morning, he was overcome with excitement when we walked past the stables and were barked at by all their little dogs, we then had to pass a field of sheep.
The QUIZ TONIGHT will be at 8.30, love to see you there, the more the merrier.

Re: Rum Baba Monday

Afternoon all.

Shelly, I've never heard of Rum Baba cake, what's it like?

I ended up having two slices of toast with a different jam on each, yum! It was homemade bread too so extra yum!

We had a bit of snow earlier, I got quite excited as it was coming down quite hard and sticking, but it's stopped now and starting to melt

Re: Rum Baba Monday

TM, Rum baba is sort of a sponge cake soaked in a rum syrup, filled with fresh cream.
You're home made bread and jam sounds scrummy.
Pamela, how lovelt to be able to walk around a loch
Karen, pancakes, i love them
See some of you later

Re: Rum Baba Monday

A rum baba or baba au rhum is a small yeast cake saturated in hard liquor, usually rum, and sometimes filled with whipped cream or pastry cream. It is most typically made in individual servings (about a 2" tall slightly tapered cylinder) but sometimes can be made in larger forms similar to those used for Bundt cakes.

Re: Rum Baba Monday

Evening all! We had quite heavy snowfall this morning, but it fell on wet ground and melted away almost immediately. I had to go to our local garage to get a new rear light fitted and driving back through the snow was quite exciting - it is quite hypnotic to watch.

See you at the quiz later.

Re: Rum Baba Monday

Mmm, Rum Baba sounds interesting....
We had an easy meal tonight as we made stews yesterday with enough left for tonight. Mine was tamarind and chickpea with spring greens. OH had lamb tagine.
Some wet snow on and off here but nothing disruptive thankfully!
Glad you are feeling a bit better Shelley. How are your family doing Kazz?
Hi Tiggermoon- homemade bread and two sorts of jam sounds good. Glad you fitted in a walk Pamela.
I've spent most of the day trying to write up the history of two castles to show teachers how they relate-I've gone a bit goggle eyed.....
