Morning PP - very glad to hear you enjoyed your break away. I know how much just a few days can make all the difference. Horridly cold and rainy here too, gales are forecast later. OH has gone off to play golf (!!!) and I am minding the animals. I will be taking Dora to training later on. We did our first solo training outing last week, as OH takes Monty to agility and unfortunately the times overlap. Didn't do too badly - it's not so much getting Dora to obey commands etc. because she is clever and quick to learn and basically she's a good girl. My problem comes keeping her attention and quiet whilst other dogs are getting their turn, she is after all still only a puppy which is easy to overlook due to her size! Really have to keep at it with her and miss out hearing what the trainer is saying to others and watching how the other dogs are getting on, which I really enjoyed doing when I went to watch while OH did the training. Still, it's good for me and Dora doesn't seem to mind it's me and not her daddy. Let's try and tempt the sun out folks ...... I hate to think we might have had the only warm weather we're going to get and I'm still wearing bed socks at night!!! Have a good day all. |

Afternoon all. All good here - even the weather is merely rain. P.P I am with you on that one sending Mom on a weeks holiday next week a break from looking after Dad which is what it is now rather than living with him. His balance is the biggest issue since the shingles where he lost the nerves in his left leg hence his balance is off as his leg can go where it likes rather than where he thinks it is. He needs to look to see where it is and sometimes it just gives way which apparently is due to muscle wastage. His COPD is getting consistent now rather than just every now and again - he is getting old 84 this June. And its taking its toll on Mom who is 80 - hence she is off and I am here. So glad you had a lovely break I think carers such as yourself are very overlooked and under appreciated. Angie - Glad you are enjoying the classes sounds like Dora is a family dog rather than a Daddy's girl. To everyone else have a great evening we are having spaghetti Bolognaise tonight. I am cooking. Then if the weather holds enough a bike ride. Oh meant to say had my MRI results for my knee show I have torn the meniscus My GP said yesterday the MRI showed "a significant tear to the knee cartilage" so I have been referred now to a consultant led orthopaedic unit. Got to phone tomorrow and should be able to be in by next week. Very good and I am one jump ahead of others as I have had the MRI already. It is painful and am following the physio advice hence the bike ride and swimming. But significant tear sounds about right it is painful and I have a kinda high pain threshold. Anyhow that's my moan complete. See you all later. |

Here we seem to get one week of summer in May and one in September with constant rain inbetween. Half sunny, half rainy day today. (Un)Fortunately both cats still go out, and Toffee squeegees himself dry in me only to then go out again, so I was quite happy to leave Better Half minding the pe(s)ts while I went off to work. |
