Thursday daily

Brrr, bright but chilly here. I optimistically hung the bedlinen out to dry but I'm not convinced much drying has actually happened! Cleo is curled up on the (newly made) bed, Tolly has lost something underneath the folding bed- not usre what it is as I have hoiked out three ping pong balls for him but that was NOT what he was looking for- slightly worried he has lost something alive. The last time they did that it took a week with the humane traps to evict the visitor. The poor little voley had taken up residence behind the washing machine and I think the spin cycle had been getting a bit much. Smudge is patrolling the field edges as usual with occasional trips inside to see if it time for food yet and to complain loudly if it isn't. A fairly typical day in the CS household.
Hope all are well.

Re: Thursday daily

Today is OH's birthday. I have just taken him for a quick lunch in the lovely Italian restaurant across the road and consequently am struggling to keep my eyes open

Bought him one of these for his birthday http://www.pashley.co.uk/bikes/bicycles/parabike.php - but second hand. Not that you'd know it, the bike looks brand new. Also got him the brilliant 'Brother Where Art Thou' DVD and a limited edition signed copy of Ben Aaronovitch's next Folly series, Foxglove Summer.

Eldest had an assessment day at his senior school for when he's 13; where does time go - he was only 2 years old when I joined here. *sigh*

Re: Thursday daily

Happy Birthday to your OH Yola, that bike looks brilliant!
Senior school time goes far too fast!
Today I took the littlest one for his first settling in session at nursery, it was only 45 mins but it didn't go very well. He was already tired after missing his nap this morning so I ended up only leaving him there for 15mins on his own-he cried and held his arms up to me (first time he's ever done that!) and I was nearly in tears along with him.
One more month until I'm back at work so I'm determined to make the most of this December and do lots and lots of special things with him.
Working again tomorrow and Saturday so will be heading for a very early night just in case it's another chaotic day!

Re: Thursday daily

evening all.
Been busy the last couple of days, sorry for my absence.
I've been to work and tonight we have my sons friend for tea.
Last night we took Malaika to the vets as we are still struggling with her sore paws, she has had the problem since mid july and despite trying lots of remedies we cannot shift them so it's off to the skin specialist. I do hope she isn't allergic to grass or something.
PL, are you doing a few days back at work before you start proper ?
It's hard to leave them at nursery, i have worked in nurseries for years but it was still difficult to leave my own.
CS i enjoyed reading about what your three get up to as i have no cats of my own now. I do hope Tolly isn't looking for a live toy
Yola, it is amazing how the years go by and believe me the older you get the faster they go.

Re: Thursday daily

Evening all ...... you've all been busy bees by the sound of things, especially Tolly, hope it wasn't a living doll - Pip had 3 yesterday, all defunct. OH cleared up one first thing; then I found another by the breakfast table (mouse) and I was just sitting down to eat my breakfast and he bought me a vole - but I stuck to the cereal!!!

I have no idea about how hard it must be to leave a small child at nursery ............ but I can imagine.

Calligraphy went well today, only 2 more weeks before the end of term so we are all concentrating on C-word cards now. I gave my tea-towel contribution in, felt just like handing in an essay at school!

Been a very overcast gloomy day here. Just need a bit of blue sky and some LIGHT.
