Hi Pamela and all other Catsey members, Happy Furry Mothers day to everyone as well. I hope all furbabies spoiled their guardians Here in NZ, our Mothers day isn't until May 14th and hopefully, I'll get spoiled too. !!! Pamela, the flea treatment did stop the cats scratching and I've combed them every day since with a flea combe. Still cannot find any fleas either alive or dead., just flea dirt. I'll repeat the treatment in 3 weeks rather than 4 as my vet says that will be OK. I've not used Advantage on the cats or Willow before as I preferred th use Activyl, but evidently it's a good thing to switch brands. We'll see. Willow is not great. her back legs are very wobbly but they haven't given way on her for the last few days. She has a lot of medication daily. She's actually due for her monthly Synovan injection tomorrow. Michele, my vet, comes to my house to do it. Willow couldn't get into a car now. She is almost 11 and I'm so lucky to still have her and I cherish each day with her. Pamela, I know just how you feel about BarneyIt is heartbreaking to watch them. Hopefully your vet can come up with a treatment plan that will help him and it won't be a crucuate problemYour wise not to let him up on the couch or up the stairs. Willow looks longingly at the couch where she used to lie, but she can't get up on it as she can't lift her back legs high enough.I'll pray for your Barney ,that the vet visit goes well for him and that he gets much better again.Do let me know how it goes. Mia is doing so well. You must be so proud of herAND what a brave girl she was at the vets.Harris sounds amazing now, after all the worry you had with him and Skye is your special girl as always. It's lovely when you have such a close bond with an animal, isn't it. Lots of luck with your snuffle mats Pamela. I got one for Willow after you mentioned them earlier but she ripped it to pieces. She did have fun doing it though. Wow, you must be very fit with all that running !Does your husband also run with you?It must be very rewarding when you finish each race, not that I'd know !!! Hope you haven't had any more migraines Pamela. i have to take a pill every day to keep mine at bay otherwise they |

You wouldnt think i had a degree with it at times lol!! I will update on Thursday night after we get back and let you know what is happening x Glad willows legs have been ok and that you havent found any fleas on anyone ![]() Thats a shame that willow ripped her mat up, mine love their mat especially Mia!! Hi Dinky, my hubby got him into the vet yesterday as he was struggling on his leg. He had scans done today and his Cruciate ligament has ruptured. The scans showed that his hips are strong as is his other leg. The vet was really surprised given his age and has recommended getting the cruciate op for him which he will get next week. He has metacalm as a painkiller until his op. Will find out in the next couple of days when he will be getting it. x |

Hi Pamela ,thanks for letting me know about Barney.Hey, that's actually good news because something can be done about it.His hips and everything else are all good so fantastic.I know it's an operation and all that but your vet wouldn't have suggested it if he/she thought there was any risk involved.Willow ruptured her cruciate when she was about 3 and the operation went smoothly. The only hard part was keeping her confined for 6 weeks. Barney will have a new lease of life after his operation. Please try not too worry to much - just trust your vet. Do please let me know when Barney's operation is and I'll be praying hard for him. Have a great day Pamela......................Dinky. |

Hi Pamela, thanks for letting me know about Barney.I'm remembering him in my prayers every day. I know it must be awful for you seeing him struggling like this but it's good that you're just letting him walk to go to the toilet and nothing more. Try and keep him off his legs as much as possible. The poor boy wouldn't want to walk anyway, I bet. Hopefully the metacam is kicking him and giving him some relief. At least the outcome is going to be good for your boy and that's what really matters. A product that was recommended by the vet specialist when Willow had her cruciate done was 4CYTE which helps the healing process. It's totally natural and consists of tiny granules.I think it helped Willow and I've put her back on it now as it's a joint supplement. If you get the chance, it's well worth looking into Pamela. Do please let me know when Barney's operation will be.You'll have your boy running around in no time again. I'm so pleased for you both. |
