Wednesday 9th December - eek !!!!!

Good morning Pamela, Shelley ,Yola and anyone else who may look in.
It's Wednesday afternoon here and VERY hot.Yesterday it got to 29 degrees and at the moment it's 27 degrees.I am not going to moan about the heat, like i did last summer, but honestly, it is getting unbearable My air con still keeps turning itself off after 5 minutes but i don't think the air con is faulty. The switch on the main switch board keeps flicking to the "off" position and i don't really want to tape it up as it might cause a fire.Elliot, my neighbour is working away for another week and doesn't come home, even for the weekends so I'll just have to wait.

Gosh, i know i shouldn't complain, especially as all of you are now in your winter, but I really hate the heat .I think I only come alive in the autumn/winter.

I went out this morning to Countdown to do a bit of grocery shopping but couldn't get all the things i wanted. I've spent the entire afternoon so far just sitting down reading my book and feeling hot and sticky The cats hate it too. They're all 5 of them lying stretched out on Willow's kool mat. At least they're not fighting.

I hope you are all staying safe and well and (dare I say it) warm.Have any of you got your xmas menu planned yet ? I normally do a turkey roast with all the trimmings but i didn't last year and I don't think I will this year either if it's going to be too hot.I'm thinking of getting 3 big platters from Hell Pizza delivered on xmas eve and I'll supplement these with minted potatoes, honey glazed carrots, minted peas and a couscous and eggplant salad. For dessert, I'll do my usual - pavlova and dragon's breath pudding. I'll have everyone round here for tea, so want to make it as easy as possible on myself. My poor cats are going to hate it but I'll lock them away in their room with plenty of food.

PAMELA, hope the weather has been OK for you to do a bit of running and that work is going well for you. You'll be looking forward to some time off over xmas.

SHELLEY, hope work is going well for you too and that you are safe where you are.I bet you missed all your work colleagues.

Yola, hope things are going well for you and your family. Your boys must be about to finish school for the xmas break soon - how exciting for them.

Well everyone, have a great Wednesday and stay safe.I'll just go and quietly melt away in my chair now. !!!
