Hot, hot Saturday.

Good morning everyone.
Saturday early evening here and the temperature is now 25degrees. Today ,we got to 32, which is awful without an air con . The cats have been stretched out on the kool mat since midday and are quite comfy. They're even tolerating each other, which is amazing.
My cousin came round for lunch as usual and we had cheese and onion rolls. She didn't stay long after lunch as my house was too hot for her, so she went home and Janna and Tobiah (wee grandson) put up the xmas tree - it looks like a dog's dinner, I'm afraid, but I'm going to try and find a spare string of fairy lights to put on it. Hopefully it might spruce it up a bit. Everyone laughs at it, but it has sentimental value for me.

Yes, New Zealand is now Covid free, but we still have a lot of cases in managed isolation facilities here in Christchurch and in Auckland. These are people that have come from overseas and the virus has been picked up at our borders. However we have no cases in the community at this point in time. That can change in a split second though.

Tomorrow I'm going out to see the young Cane Corso and maybe spend some time with her.Things are not looking good for her, as her trainer has been unable to establish any bond with her, but it's still early days yet.I look at my cats lying stretched out on the floor in total safety, and I know I can't let my heart rule my head over this dog. I'll let you know what I think of her.

PAMELA,hope that wet, windy weather has settled a bit. I suppose you have finished work for the year now, What a lovely compliment that guy in the shop paid you -but sorry you couldn't buy Steven his gift.at the time. You'll have to remember to carry your ID with you.How annoying about your laptop. Hope the engineer can get it up and running for you. Those new trainers will be very handy.I hope you choose the right ones, OR perhaps buy both ? Sorry that you hurt your leg last night. Try and take it easy over the weekend and hopefully you'll be all set for Christmas day.

SHELLEY,I hope your presentation went well the other day.I'm sure there was no need to be nervous You'll be glad it's over anyway and you're now on holiday. Chocolates were a great idea. You'll be looking forward to spending Christmas cay with your dad ,son and partner - just a nice number. I see both you and Pamela are just about set for Christmas.Lucky you !!! I've still got to get my wee grandchildren some gifts, as they will all be here on Christmas day. I'm now going to get Brenna ( eldest daughter) an eye plant as well, as they are really amazing , but I doubt if it will be here by 25th. Our overnight couriers are no longer "overnight".

YOLA, hope everything is going well for you and you, too ,have now finished work for the year.I suppose you also are just about prepared for Christmas. Am I the only slack one around here ?

Well everyone, have a super Saturday, and stay warm and safe.

Re: Hot, hot Saturday.

Evening everyone.
Lovely day today, we managed a walk with my eldest son and partner Hannah.
We went up on the moors to Darwen Tower, beautiful views but very windy at the tower which caused the dogs to panic.
Dinky, what a dilemma re the dog, even if you can't take her maybe you could help access and socialise her.
I hope you have a lovely time with your grandchildren.
My presentation went well, thank you.
Pamela, I hope your leg feels better soon, that's all you need.
How's the laptop now?
