HOT, HOT, HOT Thursday.

Good morning everyone.
Thursday evening here after a very hot day, up to 29 degrees and at the moment, it's still 22 degrees out there. Please can you send over some of your cooler weather ? Tomorrow, however, it's only going to reach a high of 18 degrees, thank goodness.
Hope everyone is well and staying safe.. I haven't done anything over the last two days as my back is dreadfully painful at the moment. Don't know what I did to aggravate it, but I'm seeing the specialist tomorrow again anyway.I'm going to have to start taking the strong medications if it doesn't settle down again.I'm sitting here with my heat pad on it - no wonder I'm hot.

PAMELA, sorry the weather is stopping you from running. Still, I bet you were pleased to get stuck in to those kitchen cupboards and you were able to see your dad and sister yesterday, which was lovely. I'm pleased that your dad is coping , and in time you will also. Healing is a long process and it just takes time. That wee heater in your office sounds a great idea. You can't work if you're too cold (or too hot, for that matter). Enjoy the rest of your week off.

SHELLEY, glad that you won't be furlouged from next week, but I hope you are still able to work from home if that is what you want.Sorry that your puppies are still not quite over their bug but at least they are heading in the right direction.Hopefully, they'll both be a lot better today. It would be nice to know what caused it though.

YOLA, glad that things are slowly improving for you .Your physio exercises are obviously working but mine (which I have been doing faithfully) haven't really helped so much.

Well everyone, nothing else to report. Have a good Thursday, stay warm and safe and hopefully the weather may improve for you a little today.

Re: HOT, HOT, HOT Thursday.

Afternoon. I'm in the office today (the only person here), as I had a review to do for one of my team and it didn't feel right doing it at home. I have a call at 2pm with a new member of my team and then I'll head off home and finish up from there.

Not much to report really other than that. Went for a walk yesterday evening and did just short of 6k steps. Must remember to do some stretches beforehand next time I do that as my achilles tendon was screaming by the time I got back.

Dinky - aside from a physio, have you seen an osteopath for your back? When I had back problems I found some osteo manipulation helped very much.

Pamela - I've seen the weather forecast up in Scotland, minus 12 is a bit colder than us. I'm shivering at the thought of the temp not getting above 0, but yours is a proper winter. I hope you start to feel more energised soon. Grief and how we respond to it is so different and so personal that don't look to run before you can walk (pardon the pun), it'll happen in time. It's nearly 3 years since I lost my Mum and I still occasionally get overwhelmed by the most dreadful feeling of loss, that it stops me from functioning.

Shelley - what a muddle with the furlough/non-furlough thing. I wasn't furloughed last time and this time round nobody in our company is, but my neighbour is a recruitment consultant and was only starting to get back to work in September before everything closed down again and she's back on furlough. She's bored and frustrated with it.

Re: HOT, HOT, HOT Thursday.

Evening ladies,
I've been in to work today to pick up all the stuff I will need.
So glad I prepared it all before Christmas, I do like to be organised.
I'm not going to set the room out until I'm officially working on Monday.
Yola, it's just over 3 years since my mum died and like you it hits me unexpectedly, in fact I still find it hard to believe.
Pamela I'm so sorry you are struggling, the only way I could cope was to keep ultra busy.
Dinky, yes I will send some cold weather to you, you're more than welcome to it, lol.
Sorry your back is sore.
