Sunnyish Sunday.

Good morning everyone. Sunday afternoon here after a pleasant day, but starting to get cooler now. I've still got some washing out so hopefully it's dry and won't have to go in the dryer.

My cousin came round yesterday for lunch. It was her birthday on Friday but she went to the casino Friday night for a meal with her family so I didn't see her then. She liked the presents I got her - a heat pad, a Wrendale cake tin with biscuits in it,a crossword dictionary, a box of soap and some fudge. Her dog is doing fine and having her stitches out tomorrow. It's going to be difficult getting the dog inside the vet clinic as she is terrified and just refuses to get out of the car.

Haven't done much today except washing and cleaning a few windows in the back conservatory. I also tried to groom Betsey with Janna holding her, but it was dreadful. They are all going to a local groomer and I've made up my mind to have them all shaved underneath. They are all matted now and I know it's my fault - I didn't groom them while I was ill - but honestly, their fur is so thick this year. They've never ever been like this before and I'm determined that I'll never let them get like this again. It's just got too bad for me to groom them while they're like this and so I'll leave it to the professional. She recommends that I bring them in for a comb -out every 3 months which I am going to do. I can give them a quick brush once a week as well. At least I can manage that.Hopefully in the summer, their fur won't be as thick, and I'll be able to groom them better.

My son, Paddy, is meant to be arriving in NZ next month, but they will all have to go in to quarantine in MIQ for a fortnight when they land. iIt will be nice to finally meet my grandchildren, but Paddy left NZ under a bit of a cloud and I just hope that things are OK between us. I'm not going to put up with any nonsense or criticism. Anyway, enough of that.

PAMELA, good that you can work outdoors with the umbrella over you. I know, intense heat is very draining. Hope you had a good bike ride yesterday and that your sister liked her present. What did you get her ? Sounds like the season for birthdays. Enjoy that birthday lunch today and I hope Steven's niece has a good day.

SHELLEY, glad you, too, are enjoying the hot weather. Lucky you, getting a new heating system put in.Shall I send Elliot over to see you ? He's very cheap. !!!!!. You'll be heading away to Scotland tomorrow, no doubt, so I hope you have a lovely trip and safe travelling.

YOLA and KAZZ, hope all is well with you both and you are enjoying the summer weather.

Well, Janna has just made me a coffee, then I'm off to find something for tea. Have a good Sunday everyone.

Re: Sunnyish Sunday.

Morning Dinky,

I hope you manage to get the cats groomed, it will certainly make it easier for you. Your cousins presents sound lovely and so glad to hear cinders is doing well. Did your cousin win anything at the casino night?

I do hope everything is ok when your son finally comes home next month. Im sure he will be glad to see you as will the children.

I have got my sister a mug with writing on it and a wee crystal bear with a lovely message about sisters and i will pick her up a bottle of Vodka as she has a bit of a passion for drinking it lol!

We are just giving Abbie money as she is now 13 so no idea what to get her. Her brother is 18 on Wednesday so another birthday gathering.

Shelley, have a lovely time in Scotland

My bike ride was lovely yesterday. We went to a place called Largs and it was beautiful and sunny. Hubby surprised me when we got there as there was speedboat tours going on which is something that has been on my bucket list for so long. Had a great ride in the boat. We then came home via the coastal road which was really nice. I am actually back down there next week with the ladies group and we are taking the ferry over to the wee island that is very popular to ride the motorbikes round and then back over to the mainland. It will only take around 30mins if that to ride round so we will probably go back to teh wee island town for coffee

I better go and get ready to get the pooches out

Re: Sunnyish Sunday.

Morning everyone,
I'm in Weybridge this weekend, we came here yesterday via a stop at Leamington Spa.
I am with 3 doll collector friends and we are going to a doll and dollhouse fair in Cobham shortly.
We really love these dolly trips.
Last night we ate in a Korean restaurant, nice place but sadly didn't enjoy my meal.
I had fried tofu on a bed of lettuce and boiled rice, tasteless and uninspiring.
Dinky, hope everything goes well between you and your family when you eventually get to see them.
Good idea to let a professional to groom the cats.
Glad your cousins dog is doing well.
Pamela, what a week for birthdays.
You speedboat ride sounds wonderful, I went to Largs as a young child.
