Overcast Sunday.
Good morning Pamela and Shelley,
Sunday just after midday here and it's been raining lightly although we're meant to have a high of 27 degrees - it's around 18 degrees at the moment. The weather here has been so hot lately and my poor cats are finding it hard. Sophie, the cat groomer has kidney stones at the moment so she is out of action. They're going to have to wait until after xmas now to be shaved, I'm afraid. I set up Willow's Kool mat and they all flock to it at night and lie stretched out on it. We've been taking them out very late at night when it's cooler, but I can only do that when Janna's here with me, as I'm frightened of losing one of them in the darkness. They love chasing the wee moths on the lawn and sniffing at the hedgehogs that come in to the garden.
I saw my surgeon recently and he is advising me to have my left knee redone as the implant has slipped and is causing the nerves in my leg and back to flare up. I am not going to do that, at least not at this point in time, as I feel it may improve on it's own. I'm certainly not having a third operation on that knee without giving it some time. My physio agrees with me. I can't say that my surgeon was happy about my decision though, but I'm going to just wait and not be pushed into anything. At times, it does seem to be improving slightly and I'm now taking medication for nerve pain and doing specific exercises,. I still can't walk very far without getting quite a bit of pain, but I do try and go for a walk twice a day, just short walks. I'm trying to gradually increase the distance.
Nothing much else has happened here. Janna has been working away hard and also doing all the grocery shopping for me. Brenna's face is still totally numb on one side after her dental nearly 4 months ago. The oral surgeon has advised her to go ahead and finish the implant, so I think she's going to do that. The rain seems to have stopped now and I can feel that awful humid heat beginning.
An Indian couple are renting Eliot's old house next door and they have 3 large cages of canaries that they bring outside every morning. Gosh they sing beautifully. You can hear them all over the place. ,Often I go and open the bathroom windows and just sit and listen to them. It's very uplifting.
PAMELA, sorry that you had to cancel your Blackpool trip and that your poor sister has been unwell. I hope she is feeling much better now. A kidney infection does sound nasty. Gosh, Pamela, you have been busy lately meeting friends for dinner ,your work function and team meeting. I am so sorry that Steven's friend had bad news about his mum, and how kind of Steven to be there for him I hope you managed to get to the xmas markets and get your xmas tree cut down at a later date. I suppose you've got the tree all set up and I bet it looks lovely. Robyn will have fun with it !!OUCH, poor Robyn and her ripped claw. I do hope that she is over the worst now and doesn't have to wear that cone anymore. I bet she hated that. You did a good job, keeping her paw clean. I know it's not easy with a young dog, but you did it. AND you're off to Bulgaria with your dad next year. How exciting. It will be great if your sister and her husband join you. Your dad will be thrilled to have both his girls with him. That's something to really look forward to..
SHELLEY how are you doing? I hope work is going smoothly for you and all your xmas preparations are falling in to place. I suppose you'll be going to the van over the holidays, so you'll be looking forward to that. Hope your dad and the pups are doing well.
Well ladies, I'm off now to do a few dishes. I've sat on this computer chair as long as I can, and it's beginning to get sore. Janna has just come back from the mall, and she has tonight off work, so that will be good. Might just have soup and crusty bread rolls for tea tonight, but we'll see.
Have a great Sunday, Pamela and Shelley.
