I have a dilemma??

Hubby and I are due to be Godparents on Saturday....we were Godparents for our friend's little boy when he had a blessing last year but now they have decided to get him christened. Trouble is Maddie is due her puppies and I am not comfortable leaving her, the christening is quite away from us and I don't know what to do. I did tell her this would probably be a problem and thought she may change the date of the christening as obviously I can't change the date of the whelping lol but I feel in such a difficult position??

Re: I have a dilemma??

Well I really thought she would change the date.....but not being 'doggy' people, I don't think they realise the implications of our end if you know what I mean. I have said that hopefully one of us will be there unless she is actually whelping in which case we will both have to stop home as Maddie would stress having her puppies without hubby there (she waited for him to finish work last time ) and I would not trust him to deliver the puppies on his own

That's very difficult PK.....if you went, how long would you be away from the house?

Re: I have a dilemma??

Well if we didn't go to the bun fight afterwards we would probably be only away 2/3 hours...but I just wouldn't settle, she really shouldn't be left like that at this stage now??

It would be best to tell them as soon as possible then they could get someone else to take over the role.....

Trouble is we are already his Godparents....when he had the blessing last year...they are very good friends and I don't want to upset them but I am really torn here

If they are good friends, surely they would understand you have to stay with Maddie...
